American Manufacturers & Wireless Innovators Launch “American-Made 5G" Coalition to Support America’s Wireless Manufacturing Comeback

Coalition Promotes CBRS Spectrum Framework That Powers U.S. Manufacturing and Rural Connectivity

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 17, 2025) – Today, a coalition of American manufacturing companies and rural broadband providers launched the 5G American-Made coalition dedicated to advancing an America First spectrum policy that accelerates U.S. leadership in private 5G and next-generation manufacturing.

At the heart of this effort is the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum band, America’s 5G Manufacturing Band. CBRS is powering the digital transformation of U.S. factories to enable advanced manufacturing, make logistics hubs more efficient, and connect rural enterprises. From AI-driven product lines to precision agriculture to connected rural manufacturing facilities and energy facilities, CBRS networks are delivering secure, private, high-performance 5G connectivity tailored to the specific needs of American industry.

“The CBRS framework is critical to support our domestic manufacturing economy,” said John Puskar, CEO of the American-Made 5G Coalition. “For the first time in decades, American companies are designing and building 5G equipment here at home, strengthening our supply chains, and further enabling the reindustrialization of our country. CBRS is a key part of realizing the true benefits of 5G on factory floors and in rural communities across the country.”

In a recent letter to Federal Communication Commission Chairman (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information Arielle Roth, coalition members promoted the existing CBRS framework, which is essential to the Trump Administration's America First vision to restore U.S. leadership in telecommunications infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

Background

  • The CBRS band (3550–3700 MHz) enables factories, rural internet providers, and businesses to build secure, private 5G networks. Since launching in 2020, it quickly emerged as America’s 5G Manufacturing Band—a critical asset in supporting President Trump’s vision for reindustrializing America and bringing critical supply chains back onshore.

  • CBRS users have invested more than $14 billion and deployed more than 420,000 CBRS base stations – including private networks powering smart factory operations for American manufacturers like U.S. Steel, John Deere, Logan Aluminum, Dow Chemical, and Tesla.  CBRS private networks support advanced automation, robotics, and secure on-premises connectivity, helping these American companies compete globally to beat China.

  • CBRS is also delivering affordable, high-speed broadband to over half a million American families and small businesses across all 50 states. More than 70% of CBRS deployments serve rural and small-town communities, many through Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) that rely on the existing CBRS framework to bridge the digital divide.
