A new coalition is launching today to urge the Federal Communications Commission and Commerce Department to protect a band of wireless spectrum that manufacturers and cable companies rely on to provide private local networks.

Republican lawmakers in both chambers of Congress have called for protecting the band.

In a letter to the FCC, the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association (WISPA) again urged the Commission to protect CBRS spectrum from auction, noting its importance 'for implementing BEAD projects.'
